Miscellaneous Musings

What we are searching for is within each and everyone of us, but we must first learn to Be still to find it.  What we are grasping for is within us, but it cannot be found by trying to physically or mentally grasp it.  It is very elusive.  If you try to grasp or encircle the  elusive by merely trying to understand it, it metamorphoses into an illusion.   If you embrace the illusion to try to make it real, you become lost in maya.

If you have dedication, perseverance, and commitment,  eventually you will become that which you are in search of.  At that level, you no longer have to walk your talk. Talk is no longer necessary.  What we are looking for can only be found by experience; but this experience cannot be adequately conveyed to others by words alone. If you are still, the elusive manifests through you.  You become one with the moment. This is At-One-ment.

How much time do you spend thinking, worrying, talking, justifying, complaining, or making the stories bigger about where you are at this point in your life?  If you put the same amount of energy into changing just one thing, so that could lead to another – you would be on a different path.

When we give up rushing to get ahead of ourselves, and let ourselves relax in the experience, we can find that living with ambiguity can be one of the most valuable spiritual lessons we can learn in this lifetime.

Whatever you think you are, is really only the reflection of you thinking it.

We don't see things the way they are; we see things the way we are.

Breathe rather than try,

Relax rather than offer effort.

Smile rather than struggle.

Be rather than do.

For your true power is experienced only from inside.

Everything will work out in the end.

If it’s not working out, it’s not the end.

Let yourself be silently drawn by the stronger pull

of what you really love.  Let the beauty of what you love

be what you do.

Follow what you know is true, even at the expense of your comfort,

and be ever willing to speak for that part of you which requires silence and devotion and Divine mercy, more than anything on this earthly plane.

Know you are being led, especially when you most feel that you

do not know the way.  At those moments you are directly upon the path you are meant to travel.

*   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *

It is not for you to decide where you travel,

only the way in which you journey, the manner in which you touch

and are touched by those you pass, or who pass you by.

In truth there is no difference, for every going out is a coming home

and every movement inward takes you closer to the

farthest edges of all that lies out beyond you

Try to sense this truth;

Do not attempt to understand it.

And when you clear out the confusion,

simple desires surface,

and find their life.

To be alive.

To behold sunlight and the flight of birds,

intersecting the light of day.

To stroll in glow of moonlight.

To know one's shadow, and accept one's grief.

No longer distinguishing between sorrow and joy,

You only know that you are emptied and filled all at once.

The embrace of the night, the feel of your body curled in upon itself.

Each moment, no more than a dream.

No less, than a life’s passing.

I do not seek, I know.

I do not strive, for I am guided.

When the student is ready

The teacher will appear

When the student is really ready

The teacher will disappear

A challenge is nothing more than an opportunity to believe

Live as if you have nothing to get, nothing to prove,

nothing to defend, and nothing to hide.

Then you will become unshakable.

This is called “presence.”

When you feel it, you will know it.

If we don’t transform our suffering, we transmit it.

Most rarely align with their true power, because it seems illogical to them that there is power in relaxation, in moving slow, letting go, or in love, or joy, or bliss.  Most people do not understand that their true power lies in releasing resistance – which is the only obstacle to their true power.

As we become conscious of the spiritual significance of this precious journey, we can reclaim our spiritual power, inner wisdom, and truth.

When there is a decision to be made, being centered in the self, when you come to a crossroads in your life, discerning which is the best road to take, the whole decision making process becomes a meditative process.  We have the ability to feel the feeling really deeply of what would be the most appropriate choice for us in any given circumstance in our life.  The problem is that we don’t trust ourselves.

As long as we shut ourselves off from our own emotional nature, as long as we escape from our pains and fears into a world of illusions and fantasies, we will stay caught in an emotional web of our own weaving.  When we train ourselves to be mindful of our emotional states as they arise and practice fearless acceptance of whatever we experience, we create the causes for increased happiness and peace of mind.

I am not my awareness.  I am who is aware of my awareness.

Above all else, know thyself.

Without which, in shadow dwells all else.
